Our Story

The Urooj Development & Welfare Foundation was established with a vision to empower marginalized communities through education, skill-building, and leadership development. Our mission is rooted in the principles of social justice, equity, and inclusion. We believe that by investing in youth, we are investing in the future leaders and change-makers of society. Our programs are designed to break the cycle of poverty and create meaningful social change, particularly focusing on the Mahadalit and Bakho Muslim communities in Bihar. Through initiatives like the Community Learning Centre, Computer Training Centre, and the Urooj Fellowship Program, we provide essential resources and opportunities for underprivileged individuals to thrive and become agents of change within their communities.

2022 (January)

Idea Initiated

The idea for Urooj Development and Welfare Foundation was initiated in 2022, focusing on education, women’s empowerment, and youth development.

2022 (February)

Computer Training Centre Inaugurated

Recognizing the importance of digital literacy, we established a Computer Training Centre to equip youth with modern technological skills.

2022 (February)

Urooj Fellowship Program Initiated

We launched the Urooj Fellowship Program to foster leadership and social responsibility among Muslim youth, offering them opportunities for grassroots work and personal development.

2024

Urooj Fellowship Program Initiated

Urooj Development & Welfare Foundation formally registered as a Section 8 Company with the goal of empowering marginalized communities through education and skill development.
