Safe spaces to learn, connect and grow.
A room with books, computers, and people who show up.
The Urooj Youth Resource Centre is a community-based space where young people can access learning resources, develop practical skills, participate in activities, and connect with others in a safe and supportive environment.
Our centres are designed to make learning, digital access, knowledge and opportunities more accessible to young people — particularly those who may have limited access to such resources in their communities.
Currently, Urooj operates Youth Resource Centres in Bibipur, Jehanabad, and Chand Colony, Patna.
Access is the first barrier.
For many young people, especially those from underserved communities, access to books, computers, learning spaces, and opportunities for meaningful engagement can be limited. Our centres aim to bridge this gap by creating accessible spaces where young people can:
- Access books and reading resources
- Develop essential digital skills
- Participate in workshops and learning activities
- Explore new ideas and perspectives
- Engage in meaningful discussions
- Build confidence through participation
- Spend time in a safe and welcoming learning environment
The centres are not just places to access resources. They are spaces where young people can learn, explore, participate, and grow.
Four ways in.
Library & Reading
Books and reading resources that encourage curiosity, independent learning and exploration. The library is a place to discover new subjects, build reading habits, and learn beyond formal education.
Digital Literacy
Young people join our Digital Literacy Program, gaining practical computer skills for education, employment, communication and everyday life — with hands-on experience in a supportive environment.
Workshops & Learning Activities
Workshops that help young people develop skills, explore ideas, and engage with issues relevant to their lives — communication, personal development, awareness, leadership, technology, education and careers.
Movie & Film Sessions
An engaging way to explore stories, ideas and social issues. Sessions are followed by discussion and reflection, encouraging participants to share perspectives and learn from one another.
More than resources.
We believe that a meaningful learning environment requires more than resources.
Our Youth Resource Centres bring together access to knowledge, practical learning, interaction and participation in one community space. Young people are encouraged to learn at their own pace, ask questions, participate in activities, share their ideas, and explore opportunities beyond their immediate surroundings.
What young people do here.

Build skills, confidence, curiosity and greater awareness of the world around them.
Young people from the neighbourhood.
Our centres primarily serve young people from local communities, with a focus on making learning and opportunities accessible to those who may face educational, economic, social or geographic barriers. We aim to create spaces where young people from different backgrounds can learn together and feel comfortable participating.
Bibipur Youth Resource Centre
A community space providing young people with access to learning opportunities, digital literacy, and youth-focused activities.
Chand Colony Youth Resource Centre
A community learning space offering library access, digital literacy, and activities designed to support young people's learning and development.
Places young people feel connected to.
We want our centres to become more than places people visit — places where young people can pick up a book, learn a new digital skill, attend a workshop, watch and discuss a film, meet other young people, or simply spend time learning in a supportive environment.
Over time, we aim to strengthen these centres as community platforms for learning, opportunity, youth engagement and social connection.
A resource centre becomes meaningful when people use it, participate in it, and make it their own.
We believe that when young people have access to the right spaces and opportunities, they can go further.
